I switched to PC gaming at the end of the X360's life cycle, so the past days have been like bumping into a great friend you’d assumed long gone. Now Turn 10/MS just need to enable 21:9 resolutions and FreeSync, and I’ll happily turn out laps on Spa and Brands Hatch for the rest of my days.

I’m tempted to sell my XBone and upgrade my PC since this is all I play...

At the moment Apex is still in beta, so the number of tracks and cars is very limited, but you can always give it a try if you’re running Windows 10, as it’s free in the Store.
As for switching to PC, I’d honestly wait until MS’s long term plan is a bit clearer. There are talks about all future Forza releases becoming available on PC as well, but you never know what’ll happen in the meantime. Additionally, it’s only available through the Windows Store, which is a lot more limited in terms of options and support than Steam for example.

A great friend who had a breast reduction and doesn’t wear as much makeup anymore.

You just ruined my weekend of yard work. My new tower with 8 core processor and a big graphics board just hit my steps along with a new monitor. I still need 8gb more RAM but BestBuy is within a 10 minute drive. Now I won’t get any work done and my wife is going to be pissed.

Loud thinking: Some sort of subscription model would do wonders for this demo. No, not subscribing for the game, but maybe use a renting system where you can rent 30 cars at a time and another 30 is yours forever.

I’d love to try it, but apparently Windows 10 Education isn’t part of the ‘free copy’ group.

Bummer. We can get a full W10 license for free through DreamSpark at our uni (though 99% of students don’t know it), so that might be something to look into?

I’d actually love it if they’d do early access like Dirt Rally for the next releases: start out with a limited number of cars and circuits for a low(er) price, and expand the content concurrently with raising the price, leading to a full release on PC and XBone.

Huh.. I didn’t even really notice freesync on my display when I was playing around with the dynamic settings, but now looks like I will have to do some tinkering. On the latest beta AMD drivers, so dont know what performance was like beforehand.
Then again, I didnt have the fps display enabled either so I cant give you numbers.

As far as I know, UWP doesn’t yet support FreeSync (but it’s coming eventually), but Apex scales its settings dynamically to get a consistent 60 fps (so sort of the reverse of what FreeSync/G-Sync does).

Does anyone think the physics feel a little dumbed down? The majority of Forza I have played is 4 and 5. Both of those feel like they are more difficult. I made sure to turn off all the assists.

I can only compare to 3 (and Horizons, but that’s irrelevant), and it seems more difficult/realistic than that. The McLaren P1 (in Rio!) and the Atom are extremely sketchy without assists.

I’ve been driving digital cars ‘round digital tracks for well over 30 years now. However, since I’ve never owned an Xbox, I’ve never turned a wheel in any Forza game until now.
I’ve gotta say, I’m loving it. Everything sounds and looks great (that pic is one I took), the physics feel satisfying to me, and my Xbox One controller’s trigger rumble finally has a game that they function with.
I don’t know if it’s because they’re Drivatars, but the AI are horrible at staying off the brakes through fast corners like Spa’s Eau Rouge & Radillon or TG’s Follow-Thru.

I’ve noticed the same in those corners, I’m pulling a Webber-on-Alonso almost every time.

I’m liking it OK, but it needs SLI support.
Having a pair of 670s is decent for 1440p, but it’s frustrating when card #2 is sitting idle. Mah framerates!

Haha, I can imagine the frustration of that untapped potential. I’m running a Fury, so smooth sailing here.
It’s clearly a beta, still lots of features missing, both on the technical end and content-wise. The problem is that a number of those technical issues are closely linked to UWP, so Microsoft needs to step up as well.
